Arvest Bank Launches Relief Initiatives Amid Federal Shutdown
Arvest Bank is stepping up to support customers impacted by the ongoing federal government shutdown. The bank has reactivated its Arvest Assist program, which was first introduced during the 2018-2019 shutdown, to provide aid to individuals facing disruptions in their paychecks.
Through its Disaster Relief Loan Program, Arvest is offering loans ranging from $500 to $10,000, with the added benefit of no payments required for the first 120 days. Although interest will continue to accrue during this initial period, the program is designed to ease financial burdens for both new and existing customers in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. This program will remain available until November 21, 2023.
“We understand that many Americans are facing uncertainty and hardship during the government shutdown,” said Lori Winesburg, sales manager for Arvest Bank’s Fort Smith Region. “As a community-focused bank, our mission is to help others succeed. We hope this assistance provides customers relief and peace of mind.”
Customers seeking to apply for the Disaster Relief Loan Program can do so by calling (888) 812-7407 during business hours, or by visiting their local branch or the bank’s website at arvest.com/assistance for additional support related to paycheck disruptions.
Additional Support and Services Offered
In addition to the Disaster Relief Loan Program, Arvest Bank is enhancing its support for various financial services, including checking accounts, mortgages, personal loans, credit cards, and Treasury Management services. The bank has assured customers that applications for small business and agricultural loans will continue to be processed, though closings and funding are currently on hold until the government shutdown concludes.
Arvest Bank has also issued a cautionary note to its customers, urging them to be vigilant against potential scams. Fraudsters might attempt to exploit the uncertainty surrounding the shutdown by impersonating government agencies or financial institutions.
For more information regarding the Disaster Relief Loan Program and other services offered by Arvest, customers can visit the bank’s official website.
As the shutdown continues to create challenges for many, Arvest Bank’s initiatives reflect a commitment to assist those in need during this difficult time.
