Remembering Eleanor Ann Patton: A Life Well Lived
Eleanor Ann Patton, a cherished member of the community, passed away just six months before her 90th birthday. Born in Glouster, Massachusetts, she later moved to Columbus, Georgia, where she grew up alongside her nine siblings. In the late 1950s, Eleanor made her way to California, ultimately settling in Redondo Beach, where she would create lasting memories and friendships.
Eleanor’s professional journey began at Northrop Aircraft, where she worked as an Executive Assistant. It was at a company event in Malibu that she met her future husband, Donald Patton. The couple married in 1962 and welcomed their son, Chris, a year later. Eleanor chose to resign from her position in 1963 to focus on her family, a decision that underscored her commitment to loved ones.
A Life Filled with Adventure and Joy
Throughout her life, Eleanor formed deep connections with friends and family. She was known for her vibrant spirit and love of adventure. Her passions included tennis, skiing, skating, golf, singing, and travel. Eleanor explored the world extensively, including a memorable road trip to Alaska in a Volkswagen van, a testament to her adventurous nature.
Eleanor is survived by her son Chris and daughter-in-law Catherine, as well as her two grandchildren Brandy and Harley. She also leaves behind her sister Julie and brothers Tom and Jerry, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.
Final Arrangements and Legacy
Burial services for Eleanor Ann Patton will take place at Green Hills Memorial Park in Palos Verdes, California, where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, who passed away in 2019. As a breast cancer survivor, Eleanor’s legacy will continue through contributions made in her honor to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, an organization dedicated to ending breast cancer.
