Federal Agents Spotted in Halloween Masks at Port of L.A.
BREAKING: Federal agents have been seen wearing Halloween masks while operating near the Port of Los Angeles, raising concerns among local residents and community patrol volunteers. The shocking incident occurred on October 24, 2025, and was documented by the Harbor Area Peace Patrol, a volunteer group monitoring federal immigration enforcement in the region.
Eyewitnesses reported agents wearing masks resembling horror characters, including a “Chucky” mask and a “Momo” mask, as they departed from a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) operational staging area on Terminal Island. “They slowed down, rolled down the window, and stared directly into my camera wearing a Chucky mask,” said a community member identified only as Phoebe. “Fifteen minutes later, another agent drove out wearing a Momo mask and did the same. It just reaffirmed that they really have fun doing this type of work, terrorizing our communities.”
The incident has sparked outrage and concern among local residents, with many questioning the appropriateness of such behavior by federal officers. The volunteer patrol group regularly documents vehicles exiting the restricted DHS property and cross-references them with reports of immigration enforcement operations across Los Angeles County.
Phoebe provided footage showing agents in masks leaving the facility. However, there is no evidence suggesting the masks were worn during any enforcement actions later that day. Authorities have yet to respond to requests for comment regarding this unusual behavior.
The story was first reported by L.A. TACO, which revealed an email statement from Tricia McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for Public Affairs, that read: “Happy Halloween!” This statement has been met with criticism, as community members feel that the actions of the agents were intentionally provocative.
Earlier sightings of the same vehicle indicate a pattern of behavior that many find disturbing. On October 20, 2025, agents were seen wearing a “Mr. Potato Head”-style disguise while leaving the DHS facility. The same white van has been linked to various immigration raids, including one in Van Nuys on the same day as the recent sightings.
The community’s reaction has been one of disbelief and concern. Phoebe expressed that the agents’ actions felt different this time, stating, “They went out of their way to make sure we saw them.” As the story continues to unfold, KTLA has reached out to both DHS and ICE for clarification on the incident and will provide updates as they become available.
This incident is not just a minor occurrence but a reflection of the ongoing tensions surrounding federal immigration enforcement in the community. Local residents are calling for accountability and transparency from federal agencies, urging them to reconsider their approach to community interactions.
The implications of this event could resonate beyond just the local community, potentially influencing public perception of federal enforcement tactics nationwide. As news of this unusual behavior spreads, it is crucial for officials to address the concerns of the community promptly.
Authorities are expected to provide an official response soon, and the community remains on alert for any further developments. Stay tuned for updates on this breaking story as it continues to evolve.
