Former GOP Analyst Slams Rep. Mace Over Flip-Flop on Gay Rights
UPDATE: Former GOP analyst Tim Miller has unleashed a scathing critique of Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) following her recent contradictory statements on gay marriage. This urgent exchange unfolded just hours ago, raising questions about Mace’s true stance on LGBTQ rights.
On Tuesday, Mace ignited controversy with a tweet declaring, “Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve,” a phrase often associated with anti-gay sentiments. This provocative post was quickly met with backlash, including a Community Note on X that highlighted her previous votes supporting gay marriage protections.
In a new episode of “Bulwark Takes” released on Wednesday, Miller responded sharply. “This is a deeply sad woman just looking for attention,” he stated, showcasing a montage of Mace’s earlier posts that professed her support for gay rights. One notable tweet from 2021 read: “I support LGBTQ rights. Nobody should be discriminated against.”
Miller didn’t hold back, pointing out the inconsistency in Mace’s rhetoric. “Religious liberty, gay rights, and transgender equality can all coexist,” she had said back then. He emphasized that these statements came during a time of heightened awareness and acceptance of LGBTQ issues in the U.S. under President Biden’s administration.
He also noted a shift in Mace’s tone toward marriage, suggesting it changed after personal experiences, including her two divorces. “That’s Nancy’s trajectory from ‘Equality for everybody, miss pride, love trans people,’ to ‘Go ahead and get married if you want, gays, it’s miserable,'” Miller remarked, indicating a trend away from her previous advocacy.
This unfolding narrative reflects a growing discontent among constituents and observers regarding the shifting positions of political figures on critical social issues. As Miller’s comments circulate, the impact on Mace’s political standing in South Carolina and beyond could be significant.
With the political landscape rapidly evolving, all eyes are on Mace as she navigates the fallout from her statements. Will she clarify her stance, or continue to face scrutiny from both sides of the aisle?
