UPDATE: In a commanding performance, freshman Logyn Greer led the CU Buffs to a decisive 77-45 victory over Portland State on November 16, 2025, at the CU Events Center in Boulder, Colorado.

This victory marks a significant moment for the Buffs, who displayed exceptional defensive prowess, forcing the Vikings into a staggering 26 turnovers and amassing 18 steals. Greer’s season-high 19 points and six rebounds were pivotal in the Buffs’ triumph, especially during a third quarter that saw them extend their lead from 14 to 23 points.

“I was like a deer in headlights at the start of the season,” Greer said. “But now I’m really starting to get into it and just understand how to play with pace.” Her confidence is evident as she continues to shine on the court.

Coach JR Payne praised Greer’s potential, stating, “The sky’s the limit. She’s the type of player who walks in the gym and makes people take notice.”

The Buffs, now 2-1 for the season, capitalized on their defensive strategy, holding Portland State to just 36.4% shooting. The team’s relentless effort in the second half turned the game into a rout, showcasing their depth and teamwork.

Despite Greer’s standout performance, it was a collective effort that defined the game. Zyanna Walker contributed significantly with eight points, five steals, and six assists, while four other players scored eight points each, emphasizing the team’s balanced scoring.

Next up, the Buffs will host Boise State on Tuesday at 7 p.m. (ESPN+), where they look to build on this momentum and further establish their identity this season.

Payne noted, “We rebounded incredibly well in the second half and had people scoring from various positions, which is a great sign for our team.” The Buffs dominated the boards, especially in the second half, out-rebounding the Vikings 29-8.

This victory not only boosts team morale but also showcases the emerging talent within the CU Buffs program. As they prepare for their next game, fans are excited to see how Greer and her teammates will continue to develop.
