Details from a recent deposition have emerged, revealing that actor Justin Baldoni confirmed he told actress Blake Lively he is circumcised. This acknowledgment occurred during a legal proceeding related to Lively’s ongoing lawsuit against Baldoni, connected to the film adaptation of the novel *It Ends With Us*.

In court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Baldoni, 41, recounted a visit to Lively’s New York City apartment in December 2022, when she was pregnant with her son, Olin. During this visit, the topic of circumcision allegedly arose. In an October deposition, Lively’s attorney, Michael J. Gottlieb, inquired whether Baldoni discussed whether Lively’s baby would be circumcised. Baldoni confirmed the conversation took place but clarified that Lively did not “directly” ask him about his own circumcision status.

Context of the Conversation

Baldoni described the setting of their discussion as bustling, with several individuals present. He noted that Ryan Reynolds was among those coming in and out of the room, along with nannies, assistants, and household staff. “There were people going all around. Mr. Reynolds was in and out of the conversation. She had, I think, two nannies… Her and I were sitting on the couch, but there were people all around,” Baldoni stated during the deposition.

In a follow-up question, Gottlieb asked Baldoni if he had ever shared information about his genitalia with colleagues. Baldoni replied, “I don’t talk about my genitalia, so no.”

Lively’s amended complaint, filed in January 2023, elaborated on earlier allegations, claiming she was one of the “women or two” that Baldoni “one million percent” made uncomfortable on set. The filing underscored Lively’s distress regarding Baldoni’s comments about his own anatomy, among other claims.

Legal Proceedings and Future Implications

As the case progresses, Lively’s legal team is advocating for the lawsuit to proceed to trial, which is currently scheduled for March 2026. Baldoni’s attorneys filed a motion for summary judgment in November 2023, seeking to dismiss Lively’s lawsuit. Judge Lewis J. Liman is expected to make a ruling regarding this motion in the coming months.

In response to the legal challenges, Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, stated in June that Baldoni is eager to be vindicated. “He knows who he is. He knows what he’s done; he knows what he hasn’t done. And he wants the truth to come out,” Freedman noted, emphasizing Baldoni’s desire to address the allegations in court.

The unfolding legal battle highlights the complexities surrounding personal disclosures in the entertainment industry, particularly in light of the evolving dynamics of workplace conduct and accountability. As both sides prepare for the trial, the public will be watching closely to see how this high-profile case develops.
