Beloved Matriarch Lydia “Lilly” Zepeda Passes Away at 95

Lydia “Lilly” Zepeda, a cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Known for her warmth, humor, and strong family ties, Lilly’s life was a testament to the values she held dear. Born to Antonio and Petra Zepeda, both of whom have since passed, she grew up in a large, close-knit family that shaped her generous spirit.

Lilly was previously married to the late Robert Jack Dittel. Together, they raised a family that she adored. She is survived by her two children, Robert Anthony Dittel (Kelley) and Kimberly Marie Dittel (Brian Nystrom). Lilly was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Christine Ann Dittel. Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson, each bringing immense joy to her life.

A Family and Community Legacy

Lilly’s love extended beyond her immediate family. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Zepeda (Evelyn), and her sisters, Minnie and Rebecca. Lilly’s family ties were strong, yet she was preceded in death by several siblings, including James, Jim, Elizabeth, Patricia, Anna, Mary, Matilda, Jesse, Emma, Tony, Petra, Dora, and Vera. She leaves behind numerous cousins and friends, who will carry her memory with them.

The community will have the opportunity to pay their respects during a Funeral Mass scheduled for 11:00 AM on December 23, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in West St. Paul. Visitation will occur one hour prior to the service, followed by a luncheon. Lilly will be interred at Noon on December 26 at Riverview Cemetery in West St. Paul.

A Life Filled with Love and Laughter

Lilly Zepeda will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit, humor, and the love she shared have left an indelible mark on her family and friends. As they gather to celebrate her life, they will remember her not just for her kindness, but also for the joy she brought into the world and the love she fostered among those around her.
