LAS VEGAS — The Morgan Scalley era officially begins for the Utah Utes as they prepare to face the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Las Vegas Bowl on December 31, 2025. Announced as the new head coach just a day before the game, Scalley expressed his eagerness and humility during a press conference, humorously noting, “I’m new to this. Apologize, if any mistakes.”

Utah’s transition comes swiftly following the departure of Kyle Whittingham, who stepped down on December 12 after 21 years at the helm. Whittingham accepted the head coaching position at Michigan and informed his players of his decision shortly after arriving in Las Vegas for the bowl game.
