Major Cast Changes on Days of Our Lives: Who’s In and Out This Week
As the week of January 5-9, 2024, unfolds, fans of the long-running soap opera Days of Our Lives are eager to learn about significant cast changes. This week marks the return of familiar characters and the conclusion of others, ensuring a dynamic viewing experience for audiences.
New Faces Arriving in Salem
Judi Evans, known for her portrayal of Bonnie Lockhart Kiriakis, is making a much-anticipated return after being absent from the series since October 2025. Fans can look forward to her reappearance in scenes alongside Lauren Koslow, who plays Kate Roberts.
Another notable addition is Conner Floyd, who took over the role of Chad DiMera last summer. Although Floyd has been filming for several months, his official debut as Chad will occur in April 2024. He recently shared his excitement on social media, stating, “See y’all in April.”
Additionally, Peter Porte has resumed his role as Dimitri Von Leuschner as of January 2. Viewers can expect multiple appearances from him throughout the week as his character seeks to reintegrate into life in Salem.
Farewells and Transitions
On the other hand, there are several departures that fans will need to brace for. Bryan R. Dattilo, who has played Lucas Horton since 1993, concluded his latest run on the show last week. While his storyline has wrapped up for now, there is potential for his future return.
Billy Flynn, who has been appearing on both Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless as Cane Ashby, is set to officially conclude his time in Salem in April 2024.
Another departure comes from Alice Halsey, who has completed filming for her role as Rachel Black. Halsey is transitioning to a new project, casting her in a Netflix remake of Little House on the Prairie. The character of Rachel Black will soon be taken over by a new actress, with her first appearance scheduled for March 2024.
Moreover, the role of Ari Horton is also undergoing a recast. Marissa Reyes, who debuted as Ari in May 2025, will be replaced starting in March. This change follows the trend of recasting seen in the series, allowing for fresh portrayals of beloved characters.
As Days of Our Lives continues to evolve, fans can expect more twists and turns in the storylines, keeping the long-standing soap opera both engaging and unpredictable. With new faces arriving and familiar ones departing, the coming weeks promise to be exciting for viewers tuning in to NBC.
