Jets Players Back Aaron Glenn Despite Disappointing Season

The New York Jets concluded a challenging 2025 season with a disappointing 35-8 loss to the Buffalo Bills, solidifying their position at the bottom of the league with a record of 3-14. Despite this outcome, Jets players expressed their support for first-year head coach Aaron Glenn, indicating a belief that he is the right leader for the team’s future.

As players cleaned out their lockers following the season finale, several voiced their confidence in Glenn’s ability to guide the Jets through their ongoing rebuilding phase. Left guard John Simpson noted the team’s potential, stating, “I don’t know if y’all saw it at the beginning of the year, but those games were close, and we were in them. Finish, I feel like we were missing this past year. I believe in the coaches here full-heartedly.” Simpson added that being part of the team next year would be an honor.

While many players remain optimistic, some fans have taken to social media and local sports-talk radio to call for the dismissal of Glenn, particularly after the Jets ended the season with five consecutive double-digit losses. This dismal performance has extended the Jets’ playoff drought to a staggering 15 years, the longest among all major North American sports leagues.

Defensive tackle Harrison Phillips acknowledged the frustrations of the fan base, saying, “I understand the emotion that they have with the organization. You can’t fault 2022, 2020, you can’t fault that on any of the new people who are in this organization.” He emphasized the need for patience, noting that the players are still adjusting to their roles in the franchise.

The Jets also made history for an unwanted reason this season. They became the first team since the NFL began tracking interceptions in 1933 to finish an entire season without recording a single pick. Safety Andre Cisco reflected on this achievement, stating, “Lack of words on that, to be honest with you. It is hard to fathom that we had no interceptions.” Cisco acknowledged the team’s awareness of this statistic throughout the season.

Center Josh Myers expressed his faith in Glenn, asserting that the coach is instilling a positive culture within the organization. As the Jets move forward, it appears that both Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey will continue to lead the team’s efforts to rebuild during the offseason.
