Northern Kentucky Invited to Join February 11 Day of Prayer

The Rt. Rev. Mark Van Koevering, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington, has proclaimed February 11 as a Day of Prayer for the nation, urging residents of Northern Kentucky to gather at Trinity Episcopal Church in Covington. The event aims to foster a spirit of reflection, healing, and hope among community members.

In a pastoral letter addressed to the diocese, Bishop Van Koevering highlighted the transformative power of prayer, emphasizing its ability to bridge divides and uplift communities. He quoted the apostle Paul, stating, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7), encouraging the faithful to unite in prayer for the nation’s healing and well-being.

Schedule of Events at Trinity Episcopal Church

The observance at Trinity Episcopal Church, located at 326 Madison Avenue, will feature several prayer services throughout the day. The schedule includes:

– **8 a.m.** — Morning Prayer
– **12:10 p.m.** — Noonday Prayers with Meditation
– **6 p.m.** — Holy Eucharist, accompanied by special music and a guest sermon delivered by the Ven. Jeffrey Queen. This evening service will also be available via livestream.

The Northern Kentucky observance is part of a broader diocesan initiative, which includes an evening prayer service at Christ Church Cathedral in Lexington at **19:00**.
