NFL Stars Set to Tee Off at “Bring the Juice” Golf Event
UPDATE: The highly anticipated fourth annual “Bring the Juice” golf tournament kicks off today, October 6, 2023, at Dragonfly Golf Club in Central Valley, California. This weekend, dozens of NFL players are set to participate in an event that not only promises thrilling competition but also supports local youth through the Juice Foundation.
Founded by former Fresno State football player Frank Dalena, the tournament has grown exponentially since its inception. Last year, only 16 NFL players participated, but this year, approximately 60 players are expected to take part, showcasing a significant increase in engagement and support.
The tournament features a two-day format. Today, NFL players will compete exclusively against one another in a thrilling showcase of talent. Tomorrow, the action shifts to a pro-am setup, allowing local businesses and sponsors to draft their favorite NFL stars to play alongside them.
Among the star-studded lineup are New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo, former quarterback Ben DiNucci, and San Francisco 49ers backup quarterback Adrian Martinez, a Clovis West High School graduate. This year’s event reflects the growing popularity of golf among NFL athletes, with Dalena actively selecting players who frequently share their golf experiences on social media.
“Every year, this event becomes more significant,” Dalena stated. “Our goal is to transform it into a nationally recognized tournament that focuses specifically on NFL players who love golf.” He emphasized the importance of maintaining local roots while expanding the event’s reach.
Local businesses, including FFB Bank and Table Mountain Casino Resort, are crucial sponsors, underlining the community’s investment in both the event and its charitable mission. The tournament is free for the public, ensuring that everyone can come out and support a great cause.
Dalena recalls the first tournament, which faced heavy rain but still drew a committed crowd sporting rain gear. “It spoke volumes about the community’s commitment,” he noted, emphasizing the tournament’s ethos of grit and resilience.
As the event unfolds, expect exciting performances and inspiring stories from both players and attendees. The tournament not only highlights athletic prowess but also aims to raise funds for sports equipment that will benefit youth organizations across the Central Valley.
Stay tuned for live updates and highlights from the tournament as it promises to be a weekend filled with excitement, community spirit, and a dedication to making a positive impact.
