Michael Anthony Ortega Remembered: A Legacy of Love and Family

Michael Anthony Ortega, a cherished figure in the Harbor Area, passed away peacefully at home on February 18, 2026, surrounded by his daughters. His departure leaves a profound impact on his family and community, as he is remembered for his love and dedication to those around him.

Born on March 2, 1956, to Trinidad “Trino” Ortega and Dolores “Lola” Ortega, Michael remained a lifelong resident of the Harbor Area. He was a devoted father to his three children: Charmaine Morales, who is married to Armando; Helani Ortega Godinez, married to Danny; and his son, Michael Ortega. His family extends to an impressive lineage, including 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Among his grandchildren are Valerie and her partner Jason, Veronica and Michael, and Victoria and Vance, each of whom carry a piece of his legacy. The younger generation includes AJ, Leah, Dominique, Natalie with Milton, Maili, Solomon with Latavia, Melanie with Christopher, Mikey Jr., Lauren, Noah, DJ, and Leinani. His great-grandchildren—Joseph, Justin, Preston, Ruby, Santino, Samuel, Helani-Eileen, Jason, Charity-Reign, Jack, Jireh, Alina, and Shila—are a testament to his enduring family ties.

Michael is also survived by his siblings: Diane (married to David), Andie (married to Jesse), Tricia (married to Donna), Gabe, and Chris. In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
