Hunter Nadeau Waives Probable Cause in Sky Meadow Murder Case
A man charged with murder in the shooting death of a Nashua resident at the Sky Meadow Country Club last month has waived his right to a probable cause hearing. This decision cancels the scheduled hearing on October 20, 2023, in Nashua district court, allowing the case to move directly to the Superior Court level. The timeline for this next stage is currently unclear.
Hunter Nadeau, 23, of Nashua, faces one count of second-degree murder. Prosecutors allege that he “knowingly caused the death of Robert DeCesare by shooting him with a pistol.” The incident occurred while DeCesare was dining with family members at the club when Nadeau reportedly entered the restaurant and opened fire. DeCesare was fatally injured while attempting to shield others from the barrage of gunfire.
Since his arrest shortly after the shooting, Nadeau has been held without bail. Police apprehended him in a wooded area near the scene about 30 minutes after the incident. Authorities have indicated that additional charges could be brought against him, but as of now, it remains uncertain if any further charges have been filed.
The investigation has led to a sealed case file, following a request from prosecutors. Only the one-page charging document has been made public. The sealing of the case file limits the information available about the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the ongoing legal proceedings.
As the case transitions to the Superior Court, more details may emerge, shedding light on the tragic events that unfolded at the Sky Meadow Country Club.
