UPDATE: The Utah Mammoth have just clinched their seventh consecutive victory, defeating the Winnipeg Jets 3-2 in a thrilling match on Sunday night. Dylan Guenther shattered a tie with just 5:36 remaining in the game, affirming the Mammoth’s dominance with a record of 8-2-0, the best in the Western Conference.

This latest win comes on the heels of a decisive 6-2 triumph over the Minnesota Wild just a day prior. The Mammoth are riding an exceptional wave of confidence as they continue to build momentum in the season.

“Winning is fun,” said Guenther, expressing the team’s collective excitement. “We’re playing a lot of games, too, so I think just continue to just keep it rolling and just enjoy this one.” Notably, out of Guenther’s last 17 goals, an impressive 11 have been game-winners, showcasing his critical role in the Mammoth’s success.

The game turned pivotal in the second period when the Mammoth scored twice within just 1:04. Mikhail Sergachev opened the scoring spree with a sharp shot past Winnipeg’s goalie, Connor Hellebuyck, followed shortly by Michael Carcone, who capitalized on a 2-on-1 opportunity with Kailer Yamamoto.

Winnipeg managed to equalize at 2-2 during a power play when Mark Scheifele netted a goal off a pass from Josh Morrissey, but the Mammoth quickly regained control with Guenther’s late-game heroics.

Head Coach André Tourigny remarked on the team’s mentality, stating, “We feel our team is different in the sense of, yes, we have the excitement, but instead of excitement and hope, we have excitement and confidence.” This confidence is palpable as the Mammoth gear up for their next challenge.

As the Mammoth wrap up their four-game road trip against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night, fans are eager to see if they can extend their remarkable streak. With the momentum on their side, the Mammoth are poised for further success.
