Orlando Aims to Break Losing Streak Against Detroit Tonight
The Orlando Magic will strive to end their three-game losing streak tonight as they face the Detroit Pistons at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. The game is set to tip off at 19:00 EDT. Currently, the Magic hold a record of 1-3, placing them 12th in the Eastern Conference, while the Pistons stand at 2-2, positioned eighth in the same conference.
Detroit had a solid performance during the 2024-25 season, finishing with an overall record of 44-38. Within the Eastern Conference, they achieved a record of 29-23 and boasted a strong home performance, winning 22 of their 41 home games. Last season, the Pistons were particularly effective at capitalizing on turnovers, averaging 19.0 points off turnovers. They also contributed 14.9 second-chance points and received substantial support from their bench, averaging 40.2 bench points per game.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic concluded the previous season with a record of 41-41 and performed well in Eastern Conference matchups, securing 31 victories against 21 losses. The Magic’s defense was a significant aspect of their game, averaging 8.9 steals and 6.0 blocks per game, although they also struggled with turnovers, averaging 13.1 per game.
In terms of injuries, the Pistons will be without key players tonight. Caris LeVert is ruled out due to a knee injury, Marcus Sasser is sidelined with a hip issue, and Jaden Ivey is also unavailable because of a knee injury. The Magic will miss forward Moritz Wagner, who is out with a knee injury as well.
