Amazon to Hire Over 1,000 Seasonal Workers in Central Valley

Amazon has announced plans to hire approximately 250,000 workers across the United States, including more than 1,000 positions in California’s Central Valley, as the company prepares for the upcoming holiday season. This recruitment drive includes nearly 30,000 roles in California, with a significant number of seasonal positions available in the region.

The FAT 1 Amazon facility located in Fresno is seeking to fill around 800 seasonal positions, while the FAT 2 facility in Visalia aims to hire just over 450 seasonal workers. These roles offer competitive pay and flexible schedules, with many having the potential to transition into full-time employment. Benefits for full-time employees begin on their first day and include health care, pre-paid tuition, a 401k savings match, and paid parental leave.

In conjunction with this hiring announcement, Amazon released its 2025 Economic Impact Report, which outlines the company’s substantial investments in California and across the United States. Since 2011, Amazon has invested more than $1.5 trillion in the U.S., with $218 billion specifically allocated to California. This investment has significantly contributed to local economic growth, resulting in an addition of approximately $221 billion to the state’s GDP.

Amazon currently employs over 154,009 workers in California, which supports more than 147,000 indirect jobs throughout the state. The company’s investments in data centers have further created thousands of skilled jobs and career pathways nationwide. Between 2011 and 2024, Amazon’s investments in California alone have amounted to over $5 billion, supporting around 1,800 jobs.
