Rafting with Santa Returns to Hoover Dam This December
Lake Mead Mohave Adventures (LMMA) has announced the return of its festive tradition, “Rafting with Santa,” set to take place from December 17 to December 21, 2025, and again on Christmas Eve. This unique holiday experience invites families, couples, and outdoor enthusiasts to embark on a 12-mile journey down the Colorado River aboard motor-assisted rafts, providing a memorable way to celebrate the season.
The tour features a range of activities that enhance the festive spirit. Guests will have the chance to meet Santa Claus and his helpers while enjoying a smooth-water river adventure amidst stunning canyon vistas. The experience also includes ground transportation provided by one of Santa’s elves from Lake Mead RV Village, located at 268 Lakeshore Road, Boulder City, Nevada.
Pricing options are designed to accommodate various groups. The family bundle costs $250 for two adults and one child, with children aged four and under allowed to join for free. Additional options include a couples special priced at $199, an adult and child deal for $175, and individual tickets for adults at $100 and youth at $88. Guests will also receive a special Christmas gift, a collectable ornament, along with a boxed lunch that includes a souvenir cooler bag and bottled water for a picnic stop.
The itinerary for “Rafting with Santa” includes a departure at 10:00 a.m., with three hours devoted to enjoying the river’s beauty. Participants should check in by 9:30 a.m. at the Lake Mead RV Village. It is important to note that adults will need to pay a $15 National Park entrance fee, although this fee will be waived for those holding National Park, Golden Age, Eagle, or Access passes. For those traveling from Las Vegas, round-trip transportation is available for $69 per person.
Chad Taylor, director of marketing and guest experience at LMMA, expressed enthusiasm about the event, stating, “‘Rafting with Santa’ combines the wonder of the holidays with the awe of the great outdoors. It offers an extraordinary perspective of the Colorado River few get to see, especially with Santa as your guide.”
The tours not only provide holiday cheer but also offer educational insights into the history, wildlife, and natural beauty of the Black Canyon along the Colorado River.
