Serious Crash on US-189 Hospitalizes 4, Causes Major Delays
URGENT UPDATE: A serious two-vehicle crash on US-189 in Provo Canyon has hospitalized four people and is causing significant traffic delays. The incident occurred at approximately 7:18 PM on Sunday, October 29, 2023, near Khyv Peak Road, according to the Utah Highway Patrol (UHP).
Details are still emerging, but authorities report that a passenger car traveling northbound collided with an SUV making a turn onto the highway from Khyv Peak Road. Emergency responders transported all four injured individuals to nearby hospitals for treatment.
As of now, traffic on US-189 is limited to one lane in each direction, but UHP warns travelers to prepare for possible intermittent closures while cleanup and investigation efforts are underway. Motorists should expect delays as authorities work to manage the scene.
