Raven Reflects on Career Regrets Ahead of Documentary Release
In a candid discussion, professional wrestling icon Raven admitted that he would have approached his mental health differently if given the chance to revisit his past. During an interview on the Friday edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, he promoted his upcoming documentary, Nevermore: The Raven Effect, which is set to premiere on Amazon Prime on November 18, 2025.
When asked about regrets from his career, Raven was forthright. “Anybody who says they don’t have regrets is full of s–t. I got millions of regrets,” he stated. Despite acknowledging these regrets, he expressed a sense of contentment with his current life, noting, “I’m very content with my life, as content as I’ve ever been, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t have changed things along the way.”
Raven’s Journey with Mental Health
A significant part of Raven’s reflection centered on his struggles with insecurity and egotism. He elaborated, “One of the things I would have is I would have found a way to get over my insecurity much sooner because my insecurity led to my egotism.” Raven emphasized the scientific basis behind egotism being rooted in insecurity and expressed the importance of seeking professional help.
“I would have went to a psychiatrist earlier, or psychologist earlier probably,” he explained. He advocates for therapy, stating, “I think everybody should spend time on a couch, frankly. It’s very liberating to talk to a therapist and to be able to bear your soul and to offer up all your inner demons and look for a way to get around them instead of just suffering with them.” His openness highlights the necessity of addressing mental health issues proactively.
