Zelenskyy Confirms Ukraine’s Push for Urgent POW Exchange with Russia

BREAKING: Ukraine is urgently negotiating the resumption of prisoner exchanges with Russia, potentially bringing home 1,200 Ukrainian prisoners. He expressed hope that these efforts would allow returning soldiers to “celebrate the New Year and Christmas holidays at home — at the family table and next to their relatives.”

Currently, technical consultations are scheduled to finalize the procedural and organizational aspects of the exchanges. However, Russia has yet to comment on these developments.

In a separate but equally concerning matter, Ukraine’s energy infrastructure was severely impacted by Russian drone strikes on the same day, particularly in the Odesa region. A solar power plant was among the sites damaged. The Ukrainian State Emergency Service reported that Russia launched a total of 176 drones and one missile overnight, with Ukrainian air defenses successfully neutralizing 139 drones.

This escalation in aerial attacks coincides with Ukraine’s ongoing struggle to repel Russian advances, particularly the push aimed at capturing the eastern stronghold of Pokrovsk.
