UPDATE: Veteran Korean entertainer Kim Soo Yong is recovering in the intensive care unit after a shocking collapse on set while filming in Gyeonggi on November 13, 2023. The 59-year-old comedian, popular for his YouTube channel Jo Dong A Ri, was in critical condition but has regained consciousness following emergency treatment.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after Kim lost consciousness during filming. They performed CPR on him before transporting him to Guri Hanyang University Hospital. Reports confirm that his situation was dire at the time of the collapse, but he has since stabilized thanks to prompt medical intervention.

His agency, Media Lab Siso, issued a statement on November 16, confirming his recovery: “Kim Soo Yong has regained consciousness and is now resting and recovering. We will do our best to ensure his swift recovery.”

The incident has prompted an outpouring of support from fans and fellow entertainers. Korean netizens expressed their relief over the news, highlighting the emotional impact of the event. This collapse comes at a challenging time for Korea’s comedy community, following the recent breast cancer diagnosis of Park Mi Sun and the passing of comedy legend Jeon Yoo Seong earlier this September.

As Kim Soo Yong undergoes further tests to determine the cause of his collapse, fans are urged to stay tuned for updates on his health. The community is rallying behind the star, reflecting on the fragility of life and the importance of support during difficult times.
