A data breach at St. Anthony Hospital may have compromised the personal information of patients and staff, as confirmed by hospital officials. In February, the hospital detected unauthorized access to a “small number” of employee accounts, prompting an investigation in collaboration with an external cybersecurity firm.

The hospital, located at 2875 W. 19th St., has not yet received notifications indicating that any individuals have been directly affected. However, they are prepared to contact anyone whose personal information may have been compromised. The data at risk potentially includes sensitive details such as names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, medical record numbers, patient account numbers, prescription details, and individual medical histories.

In an official statement, St. Anthony Hospital emphasized, “To date, we have no evidence of any data misuse stemming from this incident, nor any reports of identity theft or fraud.” The hospital underscored their commitment to protecting personal information, stating, “As a team of caring and dedicated healthcare professionals, we deeply value the trust placed in us to protect personal information. We are unwavering in our commitment to privacy and security, and we acted swiftly upon discovery to safeguard the data in our care.”

St. Anthony Hospital has advised patients to consider placing fraud alerts or security freezes on their credit files. They also encouraged individuals to remain vigilant by regularly reviewing financial account statements and credit reports for any signs of fraudulent or irregular activity.

For those seeking more information regarding the breach, the hospital has set up a dedicated hotline at 877-580-4384, available from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday through Friday.
