Greenwich Entertainment has unveiled the official trailer for its upcoming romantic comedy, Fantasy Life, featuring acclaimed actress Amanda Peet. The film had its world premiere at the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival, where it garnered significant recognition by winning both the Audience Award and the Special Jury Award for Performance, awarded to Peet herself. Fantasy Life is set to hit theaters on March 27, 2025.

The film follows the story of Sam Stein, who finds himself in a precarious situation after losing his job as a paralegal. Following a panic attack, he unexpectedly becomes a babysitter for his psychiatrist’s three granddaughters. The children’s mother, Dianne, played by Peet, is an actress whose career has seen better days. She is trapped in a challenging marriage to David, a rock bassist. When David departs for a tour abroad, Dianne and Sam discover a comforting connection, united by their mutual struggles with mental health. The plot unfolds on Martha’s Vineyard, where Sam spends the summer navigating family dynamics alongside Dianne and her children.

The trailer showcases Peet as Dianne, revealing her character’s journey as she connects with Sam, portrayed by Matthew Shear, who also serves as the film’s writer and director. Their bond deepens as they share personal experiences related to mental illness. The preview is punctuated by heartwarming and humorous moments, hinting at the film’s blend of comedy and emotional depth.

In addition to Peet and Shear, the cast includes notable talents such as Alessandro Nivola, Judd Hirsch, Bob Balaban, Andrea Martin, Zosia Mamet, Jessica Harper, Holland Taylor, and Sheng Wang. The film is produced by Peet alongside Charlie Alderman, Chris Dodds, Phil Keefe, Emily McCann Lesser, David Bernon, and Sam Slater. Executive producers are Greg Field, Alex Field, and Shear.

Shear expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “I’m so excited to share our trailer for Fantasy Life, my first feature as an actor/writer/director. The film is inspired by my years working as a male nanny for NYC families while navigating a one-third-life crisis and an anxiety disorder.” He praised Peet for her captivating performance, describing it as “deeply personal, funny, and beautiful,” and expressed his anticipation for audiences to experience the film alongside a talented ensemble cast.

As the release date approaches, Fantasy Life promises to offer a unique perspective on the complexities of relationships and mental health, wrapped in a charming comedic package.
