This Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 7:30 p.m., music enthusiasts will gather at the Miller Center for the Arts in Reading, Pennsylvania for a festive evening featuring the annual holiday concert, A Peter White Christmas. This highly anticipated event, part of the Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest, showcases renowned artists Peter White, Mindi Abair, and Vincent Ingala.

Musical Joy and Holiday Spirit

For many years, Peter White has been a prominent figure in the holiday concert series. “Reading has been a major part of the annual holiday tour,” he stated, expressing his excitement for this year’s performance. “I always look forward to coming to Reading and sharing the spirit of Christmas through music with our many Berks Jazz Fest fans.” White, an acclaimed acoustic guitarist known for his exceptional talent, aims to create a memorable experience filled with beloved holiday tunes.

Reflecting on his childhood memories of Christmas, White shared, “Snowflakes, tinsel, Santa Claus, reindeer, and the opening of presents surrounded by family. As a child, my father taught me to play Christmas music on my first instrument, the recorder, and my love for Christmas music has endured throughout the years.” He hopes that this concert will provide a chance for smooth jazz aficionados to enjoy their favorite seasonal songs in a warm, family-friendly atmosphere.

Returning Artists Bring Unique Flavors

Mindi Abair, a celebrated saxophonist, returns to the stage with her characteristic energy. “Growing up, my family would get together for Christmas every year,” she reminisced. “My grandmother would cook oyster stuffing and rhubarb pie, and we’d all play and sing together.” Abair’s connection to music runs deep, as she recalls her grandmother’s influence and how music has always been a joyful part of her holiday celebrations. “What an amazing way to grow up, with music surrounding me, and weaving into my life so seamlessly from a young age,” she noted.

Vincent Ingala, a talented multi-instrumentalist known for his mastery of the tenor sax, will also grace the stage. His vibrant personality and skillful musicianship are sure to engage the audience. “I can vividly remember not being able to fall asleep waiting for Santa Claus to arrive on Christmas Eve,” Ingala recalled. His fond childhood memories of Christmas, complete with the excitement of unwrapped gifts around the fireplace, will likely resonate with many attendees.

This holiday concert promises not only to entertain but also to evoke nostalgic memories of Christmas past.
