Christian Keyes Accuses Tyler Perry of Altering His Show’s Vision

Christian Keyes has publicly accused prominent filmmaker Tyler Perry of hijacking the creative direction of his show, All The Queen’s Men, which will not return to BET. In a recent social media announcement, Keyes expressed optimism about the future of the franchise, noting that several studios and streaming companies are interested in exploring prequels and spin-offs. He assured fans that the ATQM universe would continue, albeit with some casting changes.

In a livestream event captured by Live Bitez, Keyes did not shy away from criticizing Perry, who co-created the series. He stated, “I’m not sad that my show isn’t there anymore. After season five, my show won’t be there anymore. And I won’t have to deal with that kind of shady, corny leadership over there.” Keyes emphasized that he felt entitled to recognition for his work, claiming, “My contract says I get credit, why your corny a** trying to steal my credit? ‘Cause you can’t write like me.”

Keyes alleged that the show’s original format was intended to be eight 30-minute episodes. However, he claims that Perry intervened, resulting in an expansion to 10 hour-long episodes. Keyes suggested that his removal from the writing process contributed to a decline in the show’s quality. “Things got weird,” he stated, asserting that Perry “completely changed the integrity” of the show.

The actor went on to describe the controversial content introduced in later seasons. “Season two and season three was when All the Queen’s Men got weird and dudes started getting raped with dildos and all that weird sh*t,” he explained. Keyes expressed dismay at the direction the series took, suggesting that such themes were more suited to Perry’s other shows, including The Oval, Bruh, and Sistas.
