Coronado Philharmonia Orchestra Hosts Valentine’s Concert with Paul Tseng
The Coronado Philharmonia Orchestra is set to host a special concert on February 14, 2024, featuring internationally renowned cellist Paul Tseng as the guest soloist. This event, titled “Mon Valentin,” promises a captivating evening dedicated to themes of love and artistry, making it an ideal choice for Valentine’s Day celebrations.
During the concert, Tseng will perform two significant pieces from the cello repertoire: Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 1, celebrated for its technical brilliance and emotional depth, and Fauré’s Élégie, a poignant work that evokes feelings of longing and beauty. Together, these selections create a rich tapestry of sound, perfect for an intimate evening designed to celebrate romance.
About Paul Tseng
Paul Tseng has established himself as a prominent figure in the classical music scene. His performances have graced prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall and the Cairo Royal Opera House. As a prize-winning chamber musician, Tseng is also a member of the acclaimed Delphian Trio. He holds advanced degrees from The Juilliard School and the Peabody Conservatory. Currently, he serves as the Artistic Director of the San Diego Music Society, where he promotes innovative musical experiences.
This Valentine’s Day performance will take place at the Coronado Performing Arts Center, located at 650 D Avenue, Coronado. The concert will begin at 19:00, with a pre-concert talk starting at 18:30. Tickets are available through the orchestra’s website at coronadophilharmonia.org.
Coronado Philharmonia Orchestra’s Mission
Now in its fifth consecutive season, the Coronado Philharmonia Orchestra has continued to engage audiences through its diverse and artistically rich programming. Under the leadership of Osvaldo Mendoza, the orchestra aims to present at least four professional symphonic concerts each year. Additionally, it sponsors free community outreach performances, making live music accessible to a broader audience.
