The acclaimed creator of Yona of the Dawn, Kusanagi Mizuho, has unveiled new details about the series’ most underrated character, Algira, as anticipation builds for the anime’s return. The beloved manga, which concluded in December 2025, still has significant storylines left to adapt in its anime format. Algira is a renowned warrior from the Xing Kingdom, known for being part of the Five Stars. This neighboring kingdom has been embroiled in internal conflict regarding the succession of its throne. Prior to Yona’s group arriving in Xing, Algira approached them, intrigued by Ao, a small squirrel.
