Japanese Sports Production Community Gathers for 2026 Forum
The Japanese sports production community will unite on March 19, 2026, for the annual SVG Japan Sports TV Forum. Hosted by Amazon Japan at their Meguro Head Office Building in Tokyo, this event promises a full day of engaging panel discussions and presentations aimed at enhancing sports production in Japan.
Attendees are encouraged to register promptly to secure their participation in this important gathering. The forum will not only feature discussions on pressing industry topics but will also conclude with a networking reception, allowing professionals to connect and share insights.
Event Schedule Highlights
The forum will begin with a welcome session from AWS and SVG, setting the stage for a series of presentations that explore the intersection of technology and sports.
One of the key sessions, titled “Enhancing Esports Fan Engagement Through Data Utilization,” will showcase innovative applications of data in both traditional sports and esports. This session will highlight how artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing data analysis and visualization in competitive gaming, thereby strengthening fan engagement. Takato Yamaguchi, Industry Specialist for Media & Entertainment at AWS Japan, will moderate this discussion, featuring insights from Minho Yi, Senior Advisor for Esports & Strategy at KRAFTON.
Another significant session will focus on global sports events in 2026, specifically the upcoming Winter Olympics and Paralympics, and the World Cup in the United States. As the world anticipates these major events, professionals will gain insights into the exciting broadcast and production workflows that will be employed. Speakers Paul Devlin from AWS and Ken Kerschbaumer, Co-Executive Director of Editorial Services at SVG, will lead this conversation.
Panel Discussions and Networking Opportunities
The schedule also includes a networking break, allowing attendees to foster connections during the day. Following this, a panel discussion titled “Revolutionizing Sports Media Asset Management” will address the current state of media asset management within sports organizations. Topics will include the integration of cloud technology and AI to streamline video management and enhance content value through effective metadata utilization. Kazuki Matsubara from AWS Japan will moderate this insightful discussion.
The forum will conclude with additional case studies and a closing address, after which a casual networking party will take place from 17:20 to 19:00. This event, held in the AWS conference room, will feature light refreshments, providing a relaxed environment for attendees to continue conversations and collaborations initiated throughout the day.
SVG Japan is excited to host this event once again, offering a platform for sports production professionals to share knowledge and explore the future of the industry in Japan. As the sports landscape evolves, forums like this play a vital role in fostering innovation and collaboration among stakeholders.
