Jason Momoa Hails Timothée Chalamet’s Performance in Dune 3
Timothée Chalamet’s upcoming performance in the highly anticipated film Dune 3 has received high praise from co-star Jason Momoa. Speaking to Flip Your Wig, Momoa expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Wait until you see him in Dune 3… Maybe some of the best stuff I’ve seen him do – ever. I’m serious.” This endorsement comes shortly after Chalamet received a nomination for Best Actor at the 2026 Oscars for his role in Marty Supreme.
Momoa, who reprises his role as Duncan Idaho despite the character’s fate in the first film, emphasized the significance of Chalamet’s performance. Filming for Dune 3 concluded in November 2023, and the film is directed by Denis Villeneuve. Chalamet, who will return as Paul Atreides, shared insights about his character’s evolution in the sequel. He mentioned that he will be “playing older” and embodying someone who has been shaped by the burdens of leadership.
In an interview with GamesRadar+, Chalamet noted the creative challenges involved in adapting Frank Herbert’s novel Dune: Messiah for the screen. “I don’t want to say too much. But what I will say is Denis has been so incredibly spot on about realizing the challenge,” he stated. Chalamet acknowledged that many discussions around the film’s development were driven by Villeneuve’s vision and worldview.
The release of Dune 3 is set for December 18, 2026, coinciding with a significant box office clash against Avengers: Doomsday. This has led to much speculation and excitement, with actor Robert Downey Jr. dubbing the date ‘Dunesday’.
The film is expected to feature a star-studded cast, including Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert Pattinson, Josh Brolin, and Rebecca Ferguson. As the release date approaches, audiences are eagerly anticipating what promises to be a landmark addition to the Dune franchise.
With such high expectations set by both the cast and the director, Dune 3 is shaping up to be a pivotal moment in cinematic storytelling, continuing the legacy of Herbert’s acclaimed work.
