Kahala Mall Hosts Vibrant Halloween Costume Contest
The Kahala Mall in Honolulu was filled with creativity and excitement on October 24, 2025, as it hosted a lively Halloween costume contest. Participants showcased their imaginative outfits, capturing the essence of the holiday and competing for the top prize. The event attracted a diverse group of contestants, each bringing unique themes and vibrant costumes to the competition.
Among the standout entries was **Eva Inferrera**, who creatively dressed as a Hawaiian bracelet, embodying the local culture. **Owen Mendel** took a literary approach, competing as a bookworm, while **Ryan Liu** guided his daughter **Sienna Liu**, who served dim sum in her costume. The variety of costumes highlighted the creativity of both children and adults participating in the event.
In a display of originality, **Jayten Nitahara** entered the contest dressed as a tow truck, while **Ava Leong** brought the whimsical charm of a carousel to life. Not to be outdone, **Xander Mateo-Clark** sailed into the competition, impressing attendees with his nautical-themed outfit.
The competition was intense, with each contestant showcasing their costumes and engaging in friendly rivalry. **Zander Collier** represented playfulness as a piece of LEGO, capturing the spirit of childhood creativity. **Jason Abdul** and his daughter **Sophia Abdul** brought the galaxy to Kahala Mall by dressing as characters from the iconic Star Wars franchise.
One of the more unique costumes was presented by **Shiloh Choy**, who dressed as her beloved companion, a CVS Spooky Village animated doll. The creativity displayed by all participants contributed to an atmosphere filled with laughter and enjoyment.
This year’s Halloween costume contest at Kahala Mall not only provided a platform for community engagement but also offered families a chance to bond over shared experiences and festive fun. The blend of costumes ranging from cultural references to beloved childhood characters made the event a memorable celebration of imagination and creativity.
