Major Casting Updates Announced for The Gilded Age Season 4
The upcoming season of *The Gilded Age* is set to feature significant changes, with notable casting announcements for Season 4. Actors Jordan Donica and Ashlie Atkinson will step into the spotlight as series regulars, joining the returning cast members, including Carrie Coon, Christine Baranski, Louisa Jacobson, and Denée Benton.
As the plot thickens, the official logline for Season 4 reveals a captivating narrative: “Bertha Russell changed Society at a cost. Now, her family must reckon with the consequences as Agnes van Rhijn seizes an opportunity to regain her position.” The new season promises to explore themes of ambition and desire, with Marian forging a new path and Peggy seeking acceptance from her future in-laws. The story hints at the complexities of navigating social status in this evolving era.
In addition to the series regulars, several new recurring cast members will join the ensemble. Taylor Trensch, a Tony Award nominee known for roles in *Bat Boy: The Musical* and *Dear Evan Hansen*, will portray Olivier, a fresh presence in the van Rhijn household. James Scully, recognized for his performances in *You* and *Fire Island*, will take on the role of Lee Klein, an artist who experiences a pivotal moment at a society event and is mentored by the celebrated artist William Merritt Chase.
Adding to the excitement, Dennis Haysbert, famed for his role in *24*, will appear as Dr. Reginald Harris, a mentor to William Kirkland. His character visits New York to fundraise for Freedman’s Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he forms an unexpected connection.
The new season will also feature Maggie Kuntz as Fiona Summer, a spirited cousin to the Astors, and Neal Huff, who will portray the legendary businessman and oil tycoon John D. Rockefeller. Additionally, Bonnie Milligan, a Tony Award winner celebrated for her work in *Kimberly Akimbo*, will play Mrs. Knapp Curtis, the innovative editor of the popular periodical *The Ladies’ Home Journal*.
As fans await the premiere, the combination of returning favorites and intriguing new characters sets the stage for an engaging Season 4. The series continues to explore the intricate dynamics of high society in late 19th-century America, promising audiences a rich tapestry of drama and ambition.
