Miley Cyrus Reveals Unique Phobia During Engagement Announcement
Miley Cyrus discussed her engagement and a peculiar phobia during her appearance on *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* on December 4. This marked her first talk show visit since publicly announcing her engagement to Maxx Morando. Cyrus humorously mentioned that Morando acquired her engagement ring as a “Black Friday deal,” adding a lighthearted twist to the occasion.
While chatting with host Jimmy Kimmel, Cyrus reacted to a playful suggestion that Morando could have postponed his ring purchase to avoid a Christmas gift dilemma. She laughed, saying, “It wasn’t, but he was smart that way. It might have been. I’m not sure.” The conversation took a turn as Cyrus revealed her aversion to wrapping paper during the holiday season, describing it as a source of distress.
Miley’s Unique Paper Phobia
Cyrus expressed her dislike for the texture of paper, stating, “Looking at that makes me want to vomit.” She elaborated on her discomfort, noting that cold weather exacerbates the issue. “The real problem is people have dry hands and they touch paper. When someone sends me a lovely letter, I don’t even open it,” she explained.
Kimmel humorously questioned how Cyrus would manage signing her wedding certificate, which also involves paper. In response, Cyrus shared her preference for wax paper, saying, “Anything that’s got a smooth surface, that’s better.” She recalled her previous marriage, adding, “I think I remember that the paper is waxed.”
The singer further discussed the impact of her phobia on her daily life, indicating that it has worsened over time. “There does need to be some sort of intervention, and I am going to look into some sort of EMDR, being hypnotized about it,” she stated.
Family Reactions to Engagement
Cyrus’s father, Billy Ray Cyrus, also commented on her engagement news, expressing support for his daughter’s decision. The engagement, which has garnered significant media attention, reflects a new chapter in Cyrus’s life, both personally and professionally.
As Cyrus navigates her engagement and her unique challenges, her candidness continues to resonate with fans. Her blend of humor and honesty offers insight into her life, making her relatable in an industry often marked by glamour and perfection.
