Na Makua Invitational Christmas Gift Fair Starts This Weekend

The Na Makua Invitational Christmas Gift Fair is set to take place this weekend, offering a wide array of handmade arts and crafts. The event will run from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on December 1, 2023, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on December 2, 2023, at the Edith Kanaka‘ole Multi-Purpose Stadium in Hilo, Hawaii. Organizers invite the public to experience the creativity of Hawaii’s top artists and producers, showcasing an impressive selection of unique gift items just in time for Christmas.

The fair is organized by Nelson and Kainoa Makua of Na Makua Hawaiian Designs. They have curated a collection featuring local vendors from the Big Island as well as from Oahu, Maui, and Kauai. Attendees can expect to find a variety of products, including jewelry, Christmas decorations, bags and totes, designer apparel, local wood products, gourmet foods, and artwork.

This year’s event will highlight fashions from local designers such as WahineToa, Living Hula, Kumumea, and Wehi’s Boutique. With a rich history of producing high-quality events, Nelson Makua has previously organized the Merrie Monarch Invitational Hawaiian Arts Fair for two decades.
