Rose Parade Expands Global Reach with 2026 Livestream Announcement
The Tournament of Roses has officially announced that the upcoming 2026 Rose Parade will be livestreamed across multiple platforms, enhancing accessibility for viewers both nationally and globally. This marks the third consecutive year the parade will feature an official livestream, allowing audiences to join in on the festivities from anywhere in the world.
On January 1, 2026, the parade will be available on eight streaming platforms including Christmas Plus, Dooya, FanDuel Sports Network, Fubo, GFam+, Great American Pure Flix, Pluto TV, and Samsung TV Plus. Additionally, viewers can access the livestream through the Tournament of Roses’ official YouTube channel, making it more convenient than ever for fans to participate in the celebration.
David Eads, CEO and Executive Director of the Tournament of Roses, emphasized that livestreaming is crucial to their strategy of reaching audiences where they are. “The Rose Parade has always been about welcoming the world to Pasadena,” Eads stated. “Our livestream really allows us to expand that tradition, giving fans everywhere a front row seat to America’s New Year’s celebration.”
The livestream will begin at 8 a.m. PST and will be available for viewing until January 14 on most platforms, with select services allowing access for up to one year. Eads noted that the livestream offers a unique experience, as it showcases every one of the 86 units participating in the parade along its iconic 5.5-mile route.
In previous years, viewership has significantly increased. The inaugural livestream in 2024 attracted around 25,000 viewers, which surged to over 1.15 million viewers in 2025. Total streaming figures, including broadcasts from partners like KTLA, reached more than 2.67 million viewers. Officials are optimistic that the 2026 event will see even greater engagement.
While the event will still be broadcast live on major television networks such as ABC, CNN, and NBC, the official livestream provides a distinct offering that the Tournament of Roses can control entirely. Eads highlighted the importance of flexibility and accessibility, particularly for younger audiences who prefer mobile viewing formats.
The Tournament of Roses anticipates a turnout of approximately 850,000 to 1 million attendees along Colorado Boulevard on New Year’s Day, in addition to over 30 million viewers expected through traditional television broadcasts.
Hosting the official livestream will be a dynamic trio: sports anchor Darren Haynes, TikTok sensation Pressley Hosbach, and comedian and author Loni Love. Love is renowned for her engaging personality and has received multiple awards for her work, while Haynes is a seasoned sports broadcaster with a history of excellence in journalism.
As viewership trends continue to evolve, the Tournament of Roses aims to further expand its audience by exploring partnerships with major streaming platforms like Apple TV and Amazon Prime. Eads stated, “Our goal is to eventually grow the viewership that we can actually get on a major streaming platform next. That’s kind of our long-term goal, but I think we’re making great progress.”
The 2026 Rose Parade promises an exciting blend of tradition and innovation, inviting audiences to join in the celebration through various channels, whether in person, via livestream, or through traditional broadcasts. The Tournament of Roses encourages everyone to tune in and experience the festivities in their preferred format on New Year’s Day.
