Rusty the Turtle Productions Launches ‘Strangers in der Nacht’ Cabaret
Rusty the Turtle Productions is set to debut with its inaugural production, “Strangers in der Nacht: A Jazzy Lieder Cabaret.” A private preview will take place on November 2, 2025, from 16:00 to 18:00 at 3318 Edmund Blvd in Minneapolis. This event serves as a precursor to the full production scheduled for November 14–16, 2025, at the North Garden Theater in St. Paul.
The cabaret promises an engaging blend of styles, merging the sophisticated elements of German art song with the vibrant energy of jazz. It pays homage to iconic performers such as Frank Sinatra and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, showcasing a unique musical experience.
The production features a talented lineup of performers, including Bradley Greenwald, Jennifer Grimm, Kara Morgan, Tony Potts, and Charles Kemper. Greenwald, a baritone known for his versatility, has an extensive background in opera, musical theater, and cabaret, having collaborated with notable institutions like Minnesota Opera, Guthrie Theater, and Theater Latté Da.
Grimm, also a Minneapolis-based artist, is widely recognized for her diverse range across jazz, pop, and theatrical performances. Morgan, a classically trained soprano with a flair for comedy, has contributed to various musical and operatic productions throughout the United States. Potts brings his experience from regional theater and cabaret, while Kemper has made significant contributions to the local theater and music scenes as both a performer and director.
As the event approaches, excitement is building within the community. The combination of cabaret and art song is anticipated to attract a broad audience, celebrating both traditional and contemporary styles.
The debut of Rusty the Turtle Productions marks an important addition to the cultural landscape in the region, promising to deliver a memorable artistic experience.
For further details on the preview and the full production, interested attendees are encouraged to follow updates from the production team.
