Musician Carlos Suarez suffered a severe electric shock while performing in front of a packed audience in Lima, Peru. The incident occurred when the singer, a member of the band Mi Major Amigo Scott, accidentally came into contact with an electrified microphone. As electricity surged through him, he cried out and stumbled backward, gripping the microphone tightly.

Quick action by a sound engineer and a fellow band member averted a potentially fatal situation. They unplugged the microphone from its power source just as audience members shouted, “The current, the current.” Carlos was swiftly transported to a medical facility in Lima, where he was treated for first-degree burns.

Disturbing video footage of the incident has surfaced online, showing the musician’s body seizing up as he was unable to move for nearly ten seconds before collapsing onto the stage floor. Fellow musicians rushed to his aid as equipment toppled around him. The shocking scene was highlighted in a report by the Express.

Hours after the incident, Carlos took to Instagram to reassure his fans about his condition. He acknowledged the seriousness of what transpired, stating, “What happened could have had fatal consequences. But I am okay health-wise. I have a couple of burns on my neck but no other complications, thankfully.”

In his message, Carlos explained how the accident unfolded. “When I plugged my guitar into the amplifier, I touched the microphone and received an electric shock that paralyzed me for about seven seconds,” he recounted. He described the moment he fell to the floor, where he continued to be electrocuted.

Carlos detailed the injuries he sustained, noting, “That was when the microphone fell onto my neck and caused two first-degree burns, which fortunately were superficial.” He added that he is currently on medication and has a bandage on his neck.

Despite the traumatic experience, Carlos expressed relief. “I am in good health, I am stable, and I have no complications in my body,” he said. He confirmed that he remained conscious throughout the ordeal, even though he was in shock, and was able to stand up afterward.

In light of the incident, the performer announced that he would be temporarily stepping away from live shows to recover fully. Carlos displayed his neck bandage in his Instagram video, emphasizing his commitment to health and safety in the future.

As fans and fellow musicians express their support, the incident serves as a reminder of the inherent risks faced by performers on stage.
