Stray Kids’ Movie Release Faces Boycott Calls from Fans
Stray Kids’ upcoming theatrical release, titled The dominATE Experience, is facing significant backlash from fans, prompting calls for a boycott. Live Nation announced that the film will debut worldwide on February 6, 2026, with ticket sales already available for select venues. The announcement was shared via Live Nation’s official social media channels, which included a booking link for fans.
However, the excitement quickly turned into outrage as fans noted the absence of African nations from the list of countries where the film will be screened. The only location in West Asia included is Israel, which led to severe criticism from many supporters. Fans expressed their discontent not only over the exclusion of Africa but also over the film being shown in Israel, citing the ongoing conflict and humanitarian issues in Palestine.
The controversy intensified as fans pointed out that Live Nation appeared to be concealing replies from users demanding the removal of Israel from the screening list. Tweets from fans conveyed a sense of betrayal, suggesting that the inclusion of Israel while overlooking Africa sends a troubling message about the priorities of both the entertainment company and the artists.
One fan expressed their frustration on social media, stating, “You are nasty, disgusting and sick @LiveNation… hiding the replies where people want that fake country removed from the list.” Another user highlighted the discrepancy, saying, “Israel in the list but not a single African country.” Such sentiments resonated widely within the fan community, leading to calls for a boycott of the film.
Critics argue that the phrase “Stray Kids everywhere all around the world” does not apply to Palestine and the broader Middle Eastern region, especially in light of the ongoing conflict. The uproar has drawn attention to the complexities of international relationships and cultural sensitivity in entertainment.
Despite the escalating backlash, neither Stray Kids nor JYP Entertainment, the group’s managing company, has responded to the public outcry. The silence from stakeholders has left many fans feeling unheard and frustrated, leading to increased calls for action against the film’s release.
As the situation develops, supporters continue to voice their opinions online, calling for greater awareness and consideration of global issues within the entertainment industry. The controversy surrounding The dominATE Experience illustrates the intersection of culture, politics, and fan engagement, highlighting the powerful role that audiences play in shaping the narratives surrounding their favorite artists.
