Arts & Crafts Show Moves to New Venue, Expands Offerings
The Annual Friends of the Conant Public Library Arts & Crafts Show has a new location this year, promising an enjoyable experience for visitors with ample parking and space for over 50 vendors. Scheduled for Saturday, November 22, 2023, the event will take place at the Houghton Elementary and Chocksett Middle schools, located at 32 Boutelle Road, from 09:00 to 14:00.
This cherished event, previously held at the First Church in Sterling, has gained popularity over the years. “The new venue allows space for even more artists and craftspeople,” stated Beth Cyr, chairperson of the craft fair. With high-quality, handmade gift and holiday items filling both schools’ cafeterias, shoppers can look forward to a diverse range of offerings.
Returning artisans will showcase a variety of handmade goods, including alpaca products, aromatherapy items, baskets, beach glass art, skincare products, candles, caned chairs, cork creations, crochet pieces, embellished flannel shirts for all ages, felt crafts, floral arrangements, jams, jellies, jewelry, ornaments, pottery, and wind chimes. Additionally, new vendors this year will introduce unique products such as maple syrup, pet portraits, olive oil, sambal sauces, books, vintage teacup candles, and custom wreaths.
Traditions that attendees have come to love will continue in the new venue, including a bake sale, cheese sale, raffle, and a lunch café. Admission to the event is set at $2, with proceeds directed towards supporting programs at the Conant Public Library. Each shopper will receive a passport to be stamped at three locations for a chance to win a prize.
This year’s fair is co-sponsored by All One Credit Union. While vendor spaces are currently full, interested artisans can contact Beth Cyr at [email protected] to join the waiting list and receive information about next year’s show.
