Hija de tu Madre Designer Launches Walmart Collection for Heritage Month
Designer Patty Delgado of the clothing line Hija de tu Madre recently announced a collaboration with Walmart for a special collection honoring Hispanic Heritage Month. The Nueva Vida collection, which features 14 unisex pieces, aims to celebrate the cultural identity and stories of first-generation Latino Americans. The collection will debut during Billboard Latin Music Week in October 2025.
Delgado’s inspiration for founding Hija de tu Madre stemmed from her personal experiences as a first-generation Mexican American. She observed a lack of apparel that authentically represented her culture. In her own words, she wanted to create a brand that moved beyond stereotypes and resonated with the true essence of her upbringing. “A lot of the things that I saw growing up just did not resonate with my story and my upbringing,” she explained.
The Nueva Vida collection includes a range of stylish items such as jackets, matching pants, and vests, all designed to reflect the vibrancy of Latinx culture. Delgado emphasized that the collection is not only about fashion but also about incorporating elements that symbolize home and heritage. “It’s incorporating all the little details that make home home in my clothing,” she stated.
In September 2025, it was officially announced that the Nueva Vida collection would be available exclusively on walmart.com. This partnership marks a significant milestone for Delgado and her brand, showcasing her commitment to elevating and celebrating Latinx representation in fashion. The collection’s name is a tribute to her family’s journey from Mexico and her identity as a first-generation Latina.
The upcoming Billboard Latin Music Week promises to be an exciting platform for the Nueva Vida collection. Delgado hinted at a surprise appearance by a well-known celebrity during an En Vivo performance, further amplifying the visibility of her line and its cultural significance.
As Hispanic Heritage Month encourages celebrations of culture and identity, Delgado’s collaboration with Walmart represents a meaningful step forward in mainstream fashion’s inclusion of diverse narratives. With its playful and stylish designs, the Nueva Vida collection is poised to inspire and resonate with individuals of all backgrounds.
