Macomb County Libraries Offer Engaging Events and Activities in January
Libraries across Macomb County are hosting a variety of engaging events and activities throughout January and February. These programs cater to diverse audiences, from children and teens to adults, providing opportunities for learning, creativity, and community engagement.
Highlighted Events at Local Libraries
At the Clinton-Macomb Public Library, several notable events are scheduled. On January 31, a presentation will guide attendees on how to cut the cable cord and utilize streaming services. This session begins at 10:00 a.m. and covers essential equipment and considerations for those looking to make the switch. For younger patrons, an interactive program about animal life cycles will take place at the South Branch at 11:00 a.m., featuring games and dress-up activities.
The Main Library will also host the Cuban rhythm band Tumbao Bravo as part of the Music at Main series on February 1 at 2:00 p.m.. No registration is required for this vibrant performance. Additionally, the library is launching its annual Fan Art Contest starting on February 2. Participants can submit artwork celebrating their favorite TV shows or movies until March 31, with voting occurring online and in-person from April 6 to April 30.
More Activities Across the Region
The Eastpointe Public Library is also busy with events. A Teen Hangout is scheduled for January 26 at 4:00 p.m., followed by a Kids Craft session on January 28. The library will also offer VITA Tax Preparation services on February 2, February 9, and February 23, providing essential support to community members during tax season.
In Fraser, the Teen Craft Night on January 27 invites teens to create mini books using various artistic techniques. This event runs from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.. The library’s Presidential Book Club will gather on February 2 to discuss “Code Girls: The Untold Story of the American Women Code Breakers of World War II” by Liza Mundy.
The Mount Clemens Public Library will also feature a DIY Lego Day on January 31 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., encouraging creativity and hands-on learning for children and families.
