Vote for Ventura County’s Best Hidden Gem Restaurants Now

Residents of Ventura County are invited to participate in a voting initiative to identify the area’s best locally-owned hidden gem restaurants. The deadline to cast ballots is set for December 9 at noon PT. This initiative highlights a selection of unique eateries that may not be widely recognized but offer exceptional dining experiences.

Among the nominated restaurants are Daniel’s Gourmet Foods in Fillmore, Freda’s Restaurant in Moorpark, and MythPoint Bistro, a Mediterranean establishment located in Westlake Village. The list also features Ojai Tortilla House, known for its Mexican cuisine in Ojai, and Matna 1631, a Korean restaurant in Ventura.

In addition to these, the nominations include Gotetsu, a Japanese restaurant; Lola Betty’s Kitchen, serving Filipino food in Camarillo; and It’s In The Sauce, a Texas-style BBQ venue in Oxnard. The list is rounded out by Moqueca, which has a location in Thousand Oaks, El Jarocho, a seafood Mexican restaurant in Ventura, and The Best Breakfast Cafe in Oxnard.

Community members are encouraged to share their own hidden gem suggestions that may not have made the initial list. Those wishing to contribute can send their recommendations via email to [email protected], using the subject line “VC Hidden Gem.”
