Rolesville Appoints Jason Deitch as Fire Chief to Lead Growth
The town of Rolesville has appointed Jason Deitch as its new fire chief, effective immediately. Deitch arrives from his recent position as Assistant Fire Chief at Garner Fire-Rescue, bringing over twenty years of experience to this role.
Deitch’s career has been highlighted by notable achievements, particularly during his tenure in Garner. He played a vital role in the department’s attainment of an ISO Class 1 rating, a prestigious designation that reflects exceptional service. Additionally, he contributed to Garner Fire-Rescue achieving CPSE Accredited Agency status, underscoring his commitment to excellence in fire service management.

In a statement released by the Town of Rolesville, Deitch expressed his enthusiasm for the position. He stated he is “committed to building on the department’s proud history while preparing for the opportunities and challenges of a fast-growing community.” His leadership is expected to guide the department as it adapts to the needs of an expanding population.
Deitch’s journey in the fire service began as a volunteer junior firefighter with the Durham Highway Fire Department in 1998. He transitioned to a professional role in 2003 and has since advanced through various ranks. His experience includes leading firefighting teams and serving on the Board of Directors for multiple fire departments, which has allowed him to foster collaboration and streamline operations across services.
Educational Background and Future Goals
Education has played a crucial role in Deitch’s career. He holds degrees in Fire Sciences and Fire Administration and is currently completing the Fire Rescue Management Institute program. This commitment to ongoing education highlights his dedication to maintaining high standards in fire service.
Deitch’s appointment comes at a time when the Rolesville Fire Department is poised for growth, and his extensive experience is seen as an asset. As he steps into this new role, the community looks forward to seeing how his leadership will shape the department’s future.
