Two Daycare Administrators Placed on Leave After Abuse Charges
Two administrators at a church daycare in Huntsville, Alabama, have been placed on administrative leave following the arrest of a former employee on multiple charges of child sex abuse. On January 23, 2026, authorities arrested Cameron White, 24, on a charge of sexual abuse involving a child under the age of 12 after the Trinity United Methodist Church Child Development Center informed the Madison County Department of Human Resources about allegations of inappropriate conduct.
In a letter sent to parents, Rev. Dr. Dedric Cowser, the head pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, communicated the decision to place Sheryl Raddin, the Child Development Center Director, and Megan Tarin, the Associate Director, on leave. This action is effective immediately and is intended to allow for a thorough review of the situation. Rev. Dr. Cowser emphasized the seriousness of the allegations and the need to ascertain whether proper protocols were followed.
The investigation will focus on documentation, reporting, and communication procedures within the center. During this period, oversight of the Child Development Center will be managed by Rev. Carrie Jones, the Executive Pastor, alongside Heather Atkinson, the Classroom Success Coordinator. Rev. Dr. Cowser assured parents that the church’s commitment to maintaining stability and continuity of care remains strong.
In his communication, Rev. Dr. Cowser expressed empathy towards affected families, stating, “Our hearts are breaking alongside yours, and we remain committed to walking through this season with care, honesty, and compassion.” He reiterated the church’s dedication to the safety and well-being of the children in their care.
Furthermore, attorney Bart Siniard from Siniard Law, LLC, is preparing to file a lawsuit against White, the Child Development Center, and the church itself, citing allegations of abuse and negligence. The legal action underscores the serious implications of the situation and the ongoing concern for the welfare of the children involved.
As the investigation unfolds, the community remains on alert, seeking answers and support during this troubling time. The church has committed to keeping families informed as they navigate the challenges posed by these allegations and work towards ensuring a safe environment for all children.
