Louis Edward Goldberg, Esteemed Attorney and Family Man, Passes Away
Louis Edward Goldberg, a respected attorney and beloved family figure, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 after a courageous battle with cancer. His death marks the end of a life dedicated to family, community, and professional achievement.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut, to David and Paula Goldberg, Louis spent his formative years in Arizona, where he was raised alongside his sister, Evelyn. He later married Sheila Burd Goldberg, the love of his life, and together they settled in California, where they nurtured their family and built lasting memories.
Louis pursued higher education with determination, first attending Arizona State University before graduating from the University of Arizona. He later earned his law degree from South Bay University School of Law. Initially working as an engineer, he transitioned to a successful legal career, practicing law until his retirement at the age of 73. His contributions to the legal field were marked by professionalism and integrity.
Passions and Legacy
Beyond his career, Louis had a wide array of interests. He enjoyed playing sports, practicing karate, and watching college basketball games. He was a culinary enthusiast who loved trying new restaurants and exploring diverse cuisines. Most importantly, he cherished time spent with his family, instilling strong values in his children and grandchildren and encouraging them in their personal and professional pursuits.
Louis is survived by his three children: Robert Goldberg, who is married to Elaine; Michelle Goldberg Smith, married to Kevin; and Sheri Goldberg Frazin, married to Alvin. He also leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren: Jennifer Sher, married to Rabbi Daniel; Steven Smith, married to Kelby; Amanda Goldberg, engaged to Zach; Andrew Goldberg, married to Emily; Rachel Frazin Sofaer; and Sarah Bowens, married to Brandon. His family further includes his great-grandchildren: Levi, Sami, Lily, Rory, and Ari.
A memorial service was held on November 16, 2025, at Hillside Memorial Park in Los Angeles, California, allowing family and friends to celebrate his life and contributions. Louis Edward Goldberg will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his unwavering support and love for his family.
