Bay Area High School Basketball Rankings: Salesian Dominates Again
The latest boys’ basketball rankings from the Bay Area News Group, published on February 3, 2026, sees Salesian maintain its top position, demonstrating dominance with a record of 21 wins and 3 losses. This ranking reflects their recent successes, including decisive victories against Albany (57-35), Bethel (85-59), and St. Mary’s-Berkeley (62-51). Their upcoming matchup is scheduled for Tuesday against Pinole Valley at 7 p.m.
Following closely in second place is Archbishop Riordan, who currently holds a record of 16-1. The team secured a narrow victory over St. Ignatius (53-51), maintaining its spot in the rankings. Details on their next game have yet to be announced.
In third place, St. Ignatius holds a 17-2 record. After their recent loss to Riordan, they bounced back with wins against Serra (72-41) and Valley Christian (65-47). They will face Sacred Heart Cathedral on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
The rankings continue with De La Salle in fourth place, also maintaining its position with a record of 20-3. They recently won against Granada (60-48) and will play Monte Vista on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. In fifth place, Clayton Valley improved its standing with a record of 19-3, following wins against Campolindo (57-33) and Acalanes (58-13). They are set to meet Benicia on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Among other notable teams, Archbishop Mitty fell to sixth place with a record of 13-6, despite recent victories over St. Francis (72-46) and Valley Christian (58-51). They will compete against Bellarmine on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
As the season progresses, teams like Moreau Catholic (19-3), Dougherty Valley (17-7), and Amador Valley (15-9) are also making their mark. Moreau Catholic recently secured victories over Newark Memorial (78-32) and James Logan (80-50), while Dougherty Valley edged out California (55-53) and Amador Valley (59-56).
The rankings reflect the competitive nature of high school basketball in the Bay Area, with eligibility for these rankings coming from leagues predominantly located in Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, and San Mateo counties. Fans eagerly await the upcoming games as teams vie for improved standings in this dynamic season.
