The Toledo Riverhawks faced a challenging match against the Liberty Bell Mountain Lions on Saturday, ultimately falling short with a score of 67-57. The game took place at Kittitas High School, where both teams displayed tenacity and skill throughout the contest.

The Riverhawks entered the fourth quarter with momentum, tied at 45 points. However, Liberty Bell’s standout player, Bodie Thomson, shifted the game’s dynamics. Thomson scored 33 points in total, including three critical three-pointers during the final quarter, helping to secure the victory for his team.

Toledo’s Cooper Fallon put forth an impressive performance as well. He led his team with 29 points, while also contributing significantly with 17 rebounds and six blocks. His efforts kept Toledo competitive, but it was not enough to overcome Liberty Bell’s strong finish.

Other notable contributions for Toledo included Trevin Gale, who scored 15 points and added nine rebounds and four assists. Conner Hill chipped in with eight points, while Eli Weeks contributed five points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Joaquin Acosta also made his presence felt with five rebounds and four assists.

Toledo’s coach, Grady Fallon, reflected on the experience, acknowledging the tough competition. He noted that the decision to face Liberty Bell was strategic, aiming to prepare the team for future challenges after last year’s tough loss in Spokane.

This game marked a significant moment in the season for Toledo, who currently holds a record of 6-1 with a strong 5-0 in the Central 2B League. The Riverhawks will return home to host Morton-White Pass on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, looking to bounce back from this defeat and maintain their competitive edge in the league.

Overall, the contest showcased the resilience of both teams, highlighting individual talents while setting the stage for an exciting remainder of the season.
