Pennridge Boys Basketball Dominates Boyertown in Season Opener

The Pennridge boys basketball team kicked off their season with a strong performance, defeating the Boyertown Bears 55-37 on December 3. Led by Ryan Flood, who scored a game-high 16 points, the Rams established an early advantage, going up 21-5 after the first quarter. Rownan Smith contributed significantly to the win with 14 points as Pennridge maintained a solid lead throughout the game, finishing the first half at 29-17 and outscoring Boyertown 14-7 in the third quarter.

In another exciting matchup, Harriton Rams narrowly defeated the Wissahickon Trojans 62-60. After trailing by eight points, Wissahickon made a strong comeback to tie the game at 60 in the fourth quarter. However, a goaltending call on a shot by Seth Shaw in the final seconds allowed Harriton to secure the victory. Nico Vacchiano led the Trojans with 21 points, while Henry Beicher of Harriton scored 23 points, 15 of which came in the first half.

In girls basketball, the Central Bucks East Patriots overwhelmed the Pennridge Rams 61-21. Jess Lockwood was the standout player for Central Bucks East, scoring 21 points, with 14 of those points coming in the first half. The Patriots built a commanding 32-9 lead by halftime. Haley Moran also made a significant contribution, scoring 16 points. The Rams struggled offensively, with Madison Lapp leading her team with 16 points.

The West Chester Rustin girls team defeated the Methacton Warriors 41-26 in another season opener. Ava Wolf posted a double-double for Methacton, tallying 11 points and 12 rebounds. Despite her efforts, Methacton fell short after being shut out 13-0 in the second quarter. Jenna Kraft led West Chester Rustin with 16 points.

In girls wrestling, the Souderton Indians triumphed over the Kennett team 42-36, despite giving up three forfeits. The Indians secured the win with impressive performances, including pins from Holly McKinney, Emily Sarr, and others. Souderton will compete in the Boiling Springs Holiday Girls Dual Tournament on Saturday before hosting Cheltenham the following Wednesday.
