The NCAA transfer portal has been bustling with activity, and one of the standout quarterbacks, Beau Pribula, has made a significant decision regarding his future. After exploring multiple options, the Missouri redshirt junior will join the Virginia Cavaliers for his final season of eligibility. This move comes in the wake of the NCAA denying quarterback Chandler Morris a seventh year, prompting Virginia to seek a new signal-caller.

Pribula’s decision follows his sixth visit during this transfer cycle, which included stops at Nebraska, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Washington, and Tennessee. His visit to Virginia proved pivotal, as the Cavaliers were keen to secure a reliable quarterback following their recent challenges.

During his time at Missouri, Pribula was positioned to back up Sam Horn. However, an injury to Horn thrust Pribula into the starting role, where he demonstrated his potential. In ten games, he completed 182 of 270 passes for 1,941 yards, achieving 11 touchdowns against 9 interceptions. Additionally, Pribula showcased his mobility, rushing 95 times for 297 yards and scoring 6 touchdowns. Notably, his standout performance came on September 6, 2025, when he completed a season-high 30 of 39 passes for 334 yards and 3 touchdowns in a victory over Kansas.

Pribula’s collegiate journey began at Penn State, where he signed as a three-star prospect in 2022. In his 24 appearances with the Nittany Lions, he threw 37 of 56 passes for 424 yards, recording 9 touchdowns and just 1 interception while amassing 571 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. His experience in high-pressure situations will be an asset for Virginia as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Virginia’s recent performance included a trip to the 2025 ACC Championship, where they faced Missouri, Pribula’s former team, in a tightly contested game that ended with a 13-7 victory for the Cavaliers. Despite not playing in that game due to his pending transfer, Pribula’s move to Virginia positions him to make a significant impact this season.

As the transfer portal landscape continues to evolve rapidly, Pribula’s commitment to Virginia adds another layer of excitement to college football. He is currently ranked as the No. 15 quarterback in the transfer portal by 247Sports. With his skills and previous experience, Pribula aims to lead the Cavaliers as they look to build on their recent successes.
