UPDATE: Chicago sports fans are buzzing with excitement as the city’s drink of the moment, the $8 Bears Bomb, gains immense popularity ahead of the highly-anticipated Bears-Packers game this Saturday at 7 p.m.. At Gracie O’Malley’s, a top sports bar in Wicker Park, manager Mike Stamp is fielding calls from eager fans trying to reserve tables, but the pub is operating on a strict first-come, first-served basis, advising patrons to arrive by 5:30 p.m. for a chance to join the festivities.

With the Bears advancing in the NFL playoffs, the demand for the Bears Bomb—a refreshing mix of Three Olives orange vodka and Yellow Edition Red Bull—is skyrocketing. “We’ve had to stop letting people in. We’ve been at capacity, and all of our sales have gone up, especially for the Bears Bombs,” co-owner KJ Johnson stated. Fans are flocking to the bar, drawn not only by the drink but also by the electric atmosphere surrounding the team’s playoff push.

The Bears Bomb, known for its light taste and smooth finish, has been a staple at the pub for four years. On game days, Stamp reports making hundreds, but this weekend’s buzz is unlike anything seen before. As excitement builds, Gracie O’Malley’s will also host a raffle for Bears merchandise during commercial breaks, allowing patrons buying a Bears Bomb to earn extra tickets.

Enthusiasm for the Bears is palpable, with Johnson noting, “We’re very excited for Chicago. We haven’t seen this excitement in a long time.” The camaraderie among fans is emphasized by the urgency of the moment, urging everyone to treat staff and fellow patrons kindly amid the excitement.

For those unable to secure a spot at Gracie O’Malley’s, other Chicago bars are also gearing up for the game. The Staley, located in South Loop and owned by former Bears defensive end Israel Idonije, will also be showing the game. Additionally, JoJo’s Shake Bar is offering a special Game Day Hot Chocolate for $10.95, which can be spiced up for adults with a Bailey’s shooter.

Inside Soldier Field, fans can indulge in a uniquely crafted hot chocolate infused with Jeppson’s Malört and Amaretto, topped with salted caramel marshmallows, available for $17.99.

As the countdown to kickoff continues, Chicagoans are reminded that the Bears Bomb is more than just a drink; it’s a symbol of community spirit and a rallying point for fans as they cheer on their team. Don’t miss out—arrive early to secure your spot and join the excitement!
